Chris Miller (born August 9, 1965) was a multi-sport star at Eugene's Sheldon High School before staying home and playing quarterback for four seasons at the University of Oregon. That led to a ten-year NFL career.

Chris could have easily followed a baseball path; he was drafted by the Seattle Mariners and briefly played in the California League for Salinas.

Miller emerged as the Ducks starting quarterback in 1984, his sophomore year. He would start 33 games in a row and break all of Oregon's passing records of the time.  His Duck career numbers were 6,681 yards passing and 42 touchdowns.

Miller was a first-round pick in the 1987 NFL draft, taken 13th overall by the Atlanta Falcons. He started the final two games of his rookie season, then took over as QB1 for the next five seasons.  By 1989, at the age of 24, Miller had thrown for more NFL yards than Joe Montana, John Elway, Boomer Esiason or Jim McMahon at the same age. A versatile athlete, Miller also kicked a 25-yard field goal in a game against the San Francisco 49ers.

In 1991, he earned a spot in the Pro Bowl by throwing for 26 touchdowns and 3,103 yards and leading NFL quarterbacks with 7.2 yards per rush. He played 10 seasons in the NFL (Atlanta 1987-93; Los Angeles and St. Louis Rams 1994-95; Denver, 1999). He finished his career with 19,320 yards passing and 123 touchdown passes, completing more than 54 percent.

Following his playing career, Miller coached at South Eugene and West Linn high schools and the XFL and NFL.

Chris Miller is also a member of the University of Oregon Athletic Hall of Fame.
