Chari was born in 1972 in Milwaukie and began gymnastics in 1978. A product of Eugene's Churchill High School, she led Oregon State's Gymnastics team to the NCAA championships four times. The Beavers took 4th place in 1991, 6th in 1992 and 7th in 1993 and 1994. She is a Three-time selection to the Pac-10's All-Conference and All-Academic teams and a Two-time Pac-10 Gymnast of The Year. In 1992, she became only the 2nd woman in NCAA history to post two perfect 10.0s in one meet. She duplicated that same feat in 1993. She achieved a total of eight perfect 10.0s in her collegiate career. She holds many records at OSU in the all-around, bars and beam. In 1994, she received the American Award which honored the Nation's top gymnast. Chari continued to participate in Gymnastics for several years after college, competing and placing high in the Elite Nationals. Now Chari Knight-Hunter is enjoying giving back to her sport through coaching a high school gymnastics team in New Jersey.
Mary Ayotte-Law hails from Gresham, where she began her career at Gresham Gymnastics Club. She attended Gresham High School where she became an OSAA champion. She attended Oregon State University and was a member of the gymnastics team from 1979-1982. She was a seven-time All-American in 1981 in four of five events. She became the second Beaver to win a National Championship with her floor title in 1982 and was the third place finisher in the All-Around.
She earned final placement in NCAA Championship Meet: 1980 Floor Exercise; 1981 All-Around, Balance Beam, Floor Exercise; 1982 All-Around, Vault, Floor.

After graduation, Ayotte-Law was a US National Team member, World University Games, in Bucharest, Romania 1981, competing against the likes of Nadia Commenici.
1982 recipient of the American Award, which honors the nation’s top senior gymnast.
Joy Selig Petersen was one of the nation’s top collegiate gymnasts from 1988-91, earning NCAA titles in both the balance beam and floor exercise while at Oregon State.
Selig moved to Corvallis from Placerville, Calif., and finished second at the NCAA championships in the floor exercise. As a sophomore, she won the balance beam, and won the beam and floor exercise as a junior. As a senior, she finished seventh in the all-around and led OSU to fourth place in the team competition. Following the NCAA championships, which were held in Corvallis in 1991, she was named the nation’s top gymnast and also participated in the World University Games.
Selig Petersen was inducted to the Oregon State University Sports Hall of Fame in 1997 and the Oregon Sports Hall of Fame in 2010.
