Katy Steding – Basketball

Katy Steding(Born December 11, 1967) Katy Steding was a basketball star from 1982-86 at Lake Oswego High School, earning All-State and All-American honors, as well as Academic All-American recognition. She then played four years for Stanford, from 1986-90. She was on the Pacific-10 Conference all-star team four times (1987-90) and led the Cardinal to the NCAA championship in 1990.

Steding played professionally overseas in Japan and Spain in the early 1990s. She was a member of the U.S. national team and was part of the 1996 Olympic team that won the gold medal in the Atlanta Games. She then went on to play for the Portland Power of the American Basketball League in 1996-98 and for two WNBA teams, the Sacramento Monarchs (2000) and Seattle Storm (2001).
